Advanced Vein Care of Altoona is excited to welcome a familiar face to a full-time position at its Duncansville clinic as Physician Assistant Justine Roberts joins David C. Faber, MD, FACS, and the region’s most comprehensive vein care team.
Justine joined Advanced Vein Care in 2017 on a part-time basis and developed the Aesthetic Medicine portion of the practice. Her new, expanded role will include performing the majority of the clinic’s foam sclerotherapy (chemical ablation) procedures in addition to her Aesthetic Medicine treatments.
“I so enjoyed the work that we’ve done here in the past that, when given the opportunity, I jumped at the chance to treat varicose veins with Dr. Faber,” she said.
Advanced Vein Care of Altoona is Central Pa’s premier vein care practice, with the region’s most comprehensive varicose and spider vein treatment program, providing radiofrequency and laser catheter-based ablation, sclerotherapy, ambulatory microphlebectomy, compression stockings, and peripheral venous testing.
“We are thrilled to welcome Justine to the practice,” Dr. Faber added. “She brings with her a unique set of skills and prides herself on offering the most revolutionary and safest techniques, which provide our patients with outstanding, natural results and minimal down time.”
Justine assumes the duties performed since 2008 by Jill Buterbaugh, DNP, who left the practice in July to concentrate on her role as an assistant professor in the Nursing Department at Frostburg State University.
Justine began practicing as a Physician Assistant in Reconstructive Plastic Surgery in 2009, where she specialized in skin cancer reconstruction, varicose vein treatment, and Aesthetic Medicine.
Justine is Pennsylvania licensed and Nationally Board Certified (NCCPA) as a Physician Assistant and Registered Vascular Technologist. She earned Bachelor of Health Science (2008), Master of Physician Assistant Science (2009), and Master of Business Administration degrees (2016), at Saint Francis University. She has been an Adjunct Instructor in the Physician Assistant program at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 2010. She joined the faculty of the Public Health program at Saint Francis University in the fall of 2018, with special emphasis in Epidemiology.
She is a peer reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She frequently provides lectures and conducts training for her colleagues all over the country as a National Training Consultant for Aesthetic Medical Educators Training, and an Aesthetic Clinical Trainer for Suneva Medical. In 2016 she developed Sculpted Concepts, LLC, a concierge Aesthetic Medicine Education apprenticeship and training program.
Advanced Vein Care, locally owned and independently operated by Dr. Faber, is the only Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) certified Vein Center between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg. Located at 723 Broad Street in Duncansville, the practice also offers the region’s only free, no-obligation online assessment for varicose veins, accessible through the clinic’s website at http://www.altoonavein.com.
